BRAVERY BUDDIES

As a mother of triplets who are fighting retinoblastoma, I wanted to create something that my boys could take with them during their frequent hospital visitst. I wanted to create something that could be a comfort, help show all that they have been through, and help them remember how brave they are. Bravery Buddies were the perfect solution for me. 

These especially soft and cuddly stuffed animals have a see-through pocket inside their tummy to store hospital beads. Most children's hospitals have a bead program for sick children. (often called beads of courage, bravery beads).  When a child has a procedure, they earn a bead. These beads help keep track of all the brave things the child has accomplished. Many children make very long necklaces out of their beads. These Bravery Buddies are an alternative to necklaces as they provide a convenient storage space for their beads.  Simply insert the bead in the Bravery Buddy's mouth and push until it is visible through the vinyl window in the tummy!

I hope to be able to share these buddies with other children who are brave too.  I'm not doing this for a profit, just as a way to share a little happiness with other sick kids.

I created a Facebook page in hopes that some of the good people in this world would help me be able to provide as many bravery buddies as possible to other kids. I will occasionally post a request for someone to sponsor a child who needs a Bravery Buddy and cannot afford it. In addition, if anyone who likes to sew would like to help make Bravery Buddies (or donate fabric), feel free to contact me!  If you know of someone who would enjoy a bravery buddy and cannot afford it, please send me a message. We will see what we can do!
