Mason is out of surgery. Everything went well. He is in recovery and in and out of sleep, resting comfortably.
The big tumor in that eye is gone! They don't have to stress over that anymore. Poor Mason has had a rough time with crankiness in past visits. I don't know if his little system just gets so upset from the meds or what. But, hopefully this will be a great step towards happier days for the sweet boy.
And, trying to look on the bright side - each boy now has a distinguishing mark to tell them apart!
Thomas - no right eye
Mason - no left eye
Luke - has both eyes

P.S. Cute haircut Les! You look really young!
Your family is an inspiration to all of us who have faced similar struggles. I was so sad to hear that Mason was now also facing enucleation but it certainly seems as though it was the best option for him. I love that, despite all you have all been through, you are still looking at the bright side and finding the silver lining in all of this.
ReplyDeleteSweet Mason. We love you all so much. What a great mother you are Les, I love that sweet picture! ;)
ReplyDeleteIt is so amazing, to me, how you always find the silver lining. Such a positive, wonderful family. Hopefully this is the beginning of happier times for sweet Mason! Many blessings to you all ♥
ReplyDeletemany many prayer are send up for Mason and your whole family...I live an hr from sick kids wish I could do something for you....maybe I have missed it on here .... is there an address that I could send something to like gift cards to restaurants or tim hortins.....know that I have been following this blog and praying and my heart is with all of you ...How are the nephews that were in the farm accident
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comment. The nephews in the farm accident are doing just fine. The one is back to school in a wheel chair. His mom is a physical therapist, so she's making sure to keep him exercised. He will be weight bearing in a few more weeks. He's a tough kid.
DeleteThe one who was driving swears he never is going to get a drivers license. Which, if it helps him be more cautious in his teenage years, this is not all bad. :)
Another nephew last week tripped and broke a bone in his foot. His mother is scheduled to deliver twins tomorrow morning. :)
Your little boys are so adorable. I can only imagine how much you love them and how much it hurts to have to be dealing with this right now. I would imagine it feels at times that your heart is going to burst from all of the emotions you must feel. We will keep you in our prayers!
ReplyDeleteDear Low Family, best wishes from Italy! You are so lovely parents, hope everything will be all right. Lots of love:)
