We feel so blessed. For the first time since diagnosis ---
NO TREATMENT NEEDED ON ANY OF THE 3 BOYS!
We were most anxious for Luke this morning. He's had a stubborn tumor. It was mostly dead, but there was a small area that was protruding out, growing, and looking like it could rupture. Dr Gallie had prepped us at our last appointment that to be safe, she would likely do a melphalan injection today.
Luke was up first. Before he was taken in for his EUA, again Dr. Gallie confirmed she would like to do the melphalan injection, to take away any risk the tumor might be posing. During Luke's EUA they couldn't find evidence of the raised protrusion! His stubborn tumor appeared to be dead, and the area of concern was nowhere in sight. This is the thing we had been praying for. Thank you to all for your prayers on Luke's behalf, we feel so blessed.
Mason was next and got an all clear! When Mason had his scare last year, they removed some of his tissue in the eye socket. Therefore, his eyelids don't close together all the way, and his prosthetic doesn't fit as 'snugly.' The Dr's were considering doing a little surgery on his eyelid today, but opted to wait and see if Matt (the occularist) can work his magic and get it to fit better for the time being.
Thomas was the patient one, being starved the longest. :) He also got an all clear with no new tumors, and no existing tumors needing any treatment! He had a small muscle that interferes with the movement of his prosthetic eye. Today they did a few stitches to tack down this muscle. He will be a little sore for a few days...
Yeah! Thanks for the update!
