So apparently Thomas did not pass his test. They looked over the data and realized his monitor was not set up properly for the car seat test. He did have drops in his levels. And Luke did not pass his test last night either. So this morning, I got a call from a nurse telling me they didn't pass the test, but that the Misericordia hospital (hospital closer to our home and where Richard is currently working) had 3 spots in their NICU and were willing to take the boys. So I hurried up to the hospital so I could be there for the transfers. They each got to take separate rides in the ambulance. Thomas left first, then Mason, then Luke. I got to ride in the ambulance with Mason. It was all of our first times in an ambulance :) the babies did well and have adjusted to their new home well. The NICU is MUCH smaller, but the staff is really nice and friendly. I think we will like it there.
Anyways, because both Thomas and Luke failed heir tests, they have to wait at least 72 hrs before trying the test again. So the babies will be in hospital for a little longer. I am hoping they will come home before Christmas. Mason is still too small (under 4 lbs) and he still needs about 1/2 his feeds through the NG tube so he will not be coming home as soon as the others. I have a feeling he will be there over Christmas... Poor guy!

Mason being taken out of the ambulance. They each took separate rides like this. Pretty cool! |
This is Diane's little sister. We spent 10 days at the Misericordia with our little guy in April. Once we got moved to Pod B(I think it was B), it was as good as being in the hospital with your baby can be. Marlon was our favourite nurse, he was awesome with the babies and really personable. Brings back a lot of memories when you talk about demand feed, and carseat tests. Your boys are doing awesome!
