Thank you!

We are overwhelmed by all the love and support we have received in the last few days. Words cannot express how thankful we are for your support. I feel guilty even saying this, but I have actually felt happy today. I think I have shed more tears of joy and gratitude than tears of sadness. Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers. The miracles have already started to come. We thank all of you who are and will be fasting and praying for us. No matter what happens, I know Heavenly Father has been made well aware of our situation :) I feel confident we can trust in his plan for us.

  2. Richard and Leslie - We don't know each other but I heard of your story through a friend (Sandra Oviatt) and wanted to let you know how sorry I am that your family has received this devastating diagnosis. I live in St Albert and my daughter is a survivor of Retinoblastoma. I want you to know that the team at Sick Kids are truly phenomenal - they are quite literally the best in the world and you would not be able to receive better medical care anywhere. I would be happy to speak with you ANY TIME if you have any questions regarding available sources of funding, the treatment our daughter received, or what to expect. Please feel free to email me at allison_marsh@shaw.ca if you'd like to talk. Today our daughter is a happy, healthy four year old and you would never guess all that she has been through. I can only wish that for you and your beautiful boys. All the best, Allison Marsh

  3. Richard and Leslie - A friend shared your website with us today, and I wanted to reach out to you. We live in Salt Lake City, UT and our daughter was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma at 4 months old. It is a scary time, but I promise things do get better. Life does go back to normal. More than 30 EUAs, 11+ MRIs and two rounds of plastic surgery later our daughter is now an 8 year old who is doing wonderfully. Cherish this time with your boys and document as much as you can. Looking back that was one regret I have is that we were so wrapped up in procedures and surviving between them that we didn't stop and just enjoy the milestones inbetween. You are blessed to be in Canada with free health care and to be under the care of Dr. Gallie. Lean on your friends, family and ward family when things get tough. You and them will both be blessed. Please let me know if you need to talk at any time. RB is rare, but you can connect with other families electronically. I can be reached at kariquino@aol.com. Wishing you all the best, Kristen Riquino

  6. I followed here from RB moms. I have identical twin boys who have an older brother (one less than you) and it has been a challenge. At six months, one of my twins was diagnosed with an extremely rare eye cancer similar to retinoblastoma. They had to remove his left eye a year ago. Now he is a happy and healthy eighteen month old who attacks each day with fire and vigor. I hope you will be able to say the same for your boys soon, I will be thinking of you in the coming weeks and wish you the best.

  7. Hi! I'm so sorry to hear of your trips and their diagnosis of RB. I'm also a multiple mommy. I have 7 year old ID twin boys who were both born with bilateral RB. I'm also an RB survivor. I know how crazy things can get traveling for dr. appointments and all and having to pack for two (or more) babies. Rest assure, there is strength in numbers. Be it strength in the trips and the ability to overcome things in their lives or the ability for you two to handle it - with the help of family even. Weve went to our dr appointments with several people for help. Please, feel free to contact me with any questions. I also have a 6 year old who was born with a heart defect. Wen are no stranger to the hospitals. my email is Mommy23miracles@yahoo.com. I would love to hear from you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and your beautiful babies!!

  8. Our group, Project Superman (www.facebook.com/ProjectSuperman) is a faith-based prayer community for children dealing with cancer. Our volunteers create specially made hats for children enduring cancer, with the qualification that every hat is made in prayer for that specific child so that it is truly a labor of faith and love. We would love the opportunity to share your story on our page, and for our crafters to create hats for Thomas, Mason, and Luke. We have a community of strong, praying members and we would be honored to add your boys to our prayers. Please let me know at www.facebook.com/ProjectSuperman in a message, or send an email to projectsupermankids@gmail.com if you have any questions, or to provide your consent for us to share your story and blog with those who pray with us!
