Encouragement

Leslie wanted to send out a sincere thank you to people who have sent her such kind, positive, uplifting words.  Even though she hasn't been able to personally respond to all the thoughtful emails and comments, or offers of help, she and Richard are so appreciative.  They've been reading them as time permits and are gathering strength from you.

They have been especially uplifted by those who have shared their personal experiences of themselves or family members who have vision impairment, or have lost an eye.  They have been so encouraged by the fact that so many with one eye still live life to its fullest.

One woman left a comment stating that it is God's gift to them, to make their one eye stronger and that they sometimes have better vision than people with 2 eyes!

Leslie says this is now the miracle she wants for Thomas.  That he can have confidence in himself and his one eye, and never be self conscious of it.  And that he'll be blessed with a 'super eye.'

God is a God of miracles.  He is answering their prayers by sending so much love from family, friends and strangers.

Let's pray for Super Thomas, and his "super eye."  ;)

  4. The Ruf Family sends their love and we are praying for your family!! As to the ability to live with one eye...Ted Crittenden, in Francis, has a son who lost one eye in an accident when he was about 5-6 years old. He went on to play basketball for So. Summit, serve a mission, raise a family, etc. and has never been "handicapped" at all. We are praying for Thomas' full and swift recovery and for the health and blessing of his brothers.

  6. with parents like you two Thomas will have confidence and be the best he can be. How could he not with you two? I truly believe this.
My heart still goes out to you guys, and specifically you Les as a mom. So hard to see your own kids go through something like this. Wish I could be there to give you a hug... and help hold babies :) Love you all.

  7. I wanted to send my love. My husband have a 2 1/2 year old, and 7 month old twins. And so reading your updates tugged at my heart strings. We lost our oldest, our only girl, at 18 months. She was in the hospital for a week before passing, anyway, I just know how hospitals work and feel. I wish I was closer to grab and wash your laundry, bring you dinner, and lots of odd and ends I know you'll need. Hang in there tough momma, your boys are lucky to have you.

  8. Hi, I just wanted to say how happy I am to read this. You guys are doing so great, and I love reading. I was in a similar situation not too long ago. I have 3 sons, the younger two are twins, born at 29 weeks. We have spent the last 2 years in and out of hospitals and we too are so grateful for the Canadian healthcare for the RSV shots! You guys are doing great, it gets easier! Seeing your babies makes me cry thinking of how mine were at the same stage. Wishing you the best,
    Brooke

  9. We call F's eye a super eye as well. Our oldest tells everyone the story of how his eye was sick and he had surgery and now he has a super eye because he is a "super dude." There are no limitations for him. F has hit every skills he should on time or even early. Be open and be loving, that is my best advice.

  10. I have been praying for your little boys ever since my twin sister, Sara-Jayne who lives in Edmonton told me about them. I have a baby girl who was born around the same time as your triplets. Here is another positive story for you. I know someone who was born with eye cancer that wasn't caught until he was almost a year old and he has a glass eye and now lives life to the fullest and is now 32 and married with 5 kids.
