Thomas had his exam first this morning. He had 2 tumors re-cryoed this morning. Nothing too disconcerting. The tumors were both in the periphery on opposite sides of the eye. So, he looks like he's been in a good fight this afternoon. :) It's a good reminder why they need to be seen every 6 weeks for checkups, to stay on top of the new growths. So, all is well with Thomas.
Mason had his surgery area looked at today. They removed his prosthetic and everything looks really good under there, he's healing very well. So, no issues for Mason today! He didn't have a full EUA today because he had one recently. He had other appointments today as well. It was interesting for Leslie to talk to Dr. Chan (the oncologist who really pushed for a biopsy to be taken) and learn that she also believed the growth was cancerous. After the chemo cycle and the tumor not having a great response, she was concerned that the tumor might be chemo resistant. She insisted on the biopsy because she didn't want to go through the stem cell transplant without knowing what they were truly fighting against. She was just as shocked as everyone else when the initial report came back clear. So, this makes the discovery of it not being cancerous even more miraculous to us.
Luke had an EUA this morning also. He was in for quite a long time. I was sure something was wrong - it was taking too long! But these EUA's just take longer when you have 2 eyes. Especially since Luke's bad eye needs an extra thorough exam as it has a lot of scarring and needs to be looked at with a few different techniques than normal. In Luke's 'good' eye, they lasered a previous tumor that showed some growth. His bad eye still has very little blood flow, and Dr. Gallie confirmed that it actually has decreased even more and won't get better over time. We already knew this, so it's nothing shocking for today.
It was a long day for Leslie and the troops in Toronto, but it was a good long day. :) Tomorrow are more appointments but it looks like they'll be able to come home AS PLANNED (for like, the first time in a while!) Yipee!

Luke happy to be done for the day
