Nearly a DISASTER

So Rich has been wanting me to learn to cut his hair for some time. Julie (Richard's sister) gave me a lesson at Christmas time, but apparently I forgot most of the tips!! So I started cutting his hair and it was looking good... I kept the longest comb thingie on the clippers and cut all his hair. Then Rich wanted a size 3 comb (whatever that means) along the bottom so I started clipping (REALLY SCARY) and it was going great. I decided I needed the size 4 to fade between the long hair up top and the shorter on bottom. SO... I put the new size on and started cutting. It was really strange, it felt like it was cutting shorter than the 3... and then I looked and I had accidentally grabbed the 2!!! OH NO!! I cut this chunk of hair really short between the long hair and the short hair!!! I nearly started to cry. So then I had to use the size 2 below and try and fade it... While I can really tell where I messed up, I am HOPING other people won't notice it. It just looks like I cut it short a little too far up the back of his head. Poor Rich is such a good sport. It probably isn't very pleasant to have someone TOTALLY nervous cutting your hair - especially when they keep saying "OH NO" and "It looks SO BAD!" Anyways, here are a few pictures of the nearly disastrous hair cut!
