Get this!
Today the triplets had their 3rd dose of RSV shots. The nurse was telling us that they try to book all RSV shots on the same day of the week because the shots are expensive and they try to share the vials between babies so that they don't waste any. Anyways, she went on to say that 50 mg costs $750! All the boys were given shots with 51-58mg of fluid today (it is based on weight). So basically today each of them had an $800 shot! Times that by 3 and we just cost the government $2400. And they will get 5 doses of this shot by the time RSV season is over. And as they gain more weight in the next couple months, they will use even more per shot! So basically by the time the RSV season is over, the babies will have received over $12,000 in RSV shots! Feeling pretty darn lucky to be in canada where I don't have to fight my insurance company to cover this shot!

I didn't even know there was such thing as an RSV shot - maybe they do to like to let moms down here in the states know about them cuz they're so expensive!
