Luke's Prosthetic

Luke had his left eye removed the beginning of December.
Following the enulceation, he had a temporary prosthetic.
This trip to Toronto, he got his more permanent prosthetic eye!

He is always a beautiful boy, no matter what.
I just think it's so incredible what can be done in regards to cosmetics for ailments, such as missing an eye.

This is Luke with his temporary prosthetic.  The kids get kind of a 'generic' prosthetic for about 6 weeks following an enucleation.

This is Luke today, after his new eye.  It's so beautiful, and matches so well.

Obviously, nobody WANTS a prosthetic eye.
But, it's comforting to see that after all 3 of these boys have gone through this, they all look amazing.  Most people that don't know them and their situation don't even notice the prosthetic eye.
What a blessing modern medicine and art can be...

  4. He is so handsome! I can't want to finally meet them in person this summer - It's hard living so far away from you guys and the rest of the family!!

So are Luke's eyes blue or green? It's interesting because in the first photo, they look blue (and he is wearing blue) and in the second they look green (and he is wearing green). I know light reflects off of what we are wearing - I am just a science nerd ;)
